For years, most industrial nations have successfully interconnected large-scale solar generating plants to the utility grid. Systems have been developed at all levels of government and industry to support this production. In America, connecting solar generating facilities directly to the utility grid is a relatively new idea. As a result, the process can be extremely time-consuming and expensive, and is under constant revision. Well-networked at all levels of the solar industry, REP Energy is one of the few companies to have successfully integrated and managed the confusing and sometimes contradictory aspects of this complicated process.
Serving as Chairman of the Interconnection and Feed-in Tariff Committees for Cal-SEIA, Roy Phillips, CEO of REP Energy, works closely with legislators and utility policy makers in an effort to formulate rules and procedures for grid-tied utility solar.
